At a meeting of the congregation held on October 11, 1903 it was decided to “build a church as soon as we are ready”. The congregation was ready. Now 100 years later, we were ready again.

St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized in 1903 when they called upon Reverend Wm. Nommensen of Mauston, (who was also serving St. Paul’s Lutheran Church) to come and serve them. He accepted and we became a sister church to them.

When St. Luke was originally started, they had 36 communicant members. In 2009 we had 196 communicant members.

Our church offers teaching to children through Sunday school, vacation bible school and confirmation classes. We offer bible classes weekly. We have Ladies Aid, 6 council men, an elder, caring friends and our congregation is continually growing.

At a meeting of the congregation held in 2000, it was decided to “build a church as soon as we are ready”. The congregation was ready. The time had come. Construction began in 2002 and in the fall of 2003 we prepared to move in.

What was once a hope and prayer in 1903 and again in 2000 is now, once again a reality in 2003.

Today we currently are occupied in our new building located at 208 Allen Road in New Lisbon.
